Director of the Program for Pet Health Equity

Dr. Michael Blackwell earned a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Tuskegee University. He is the director of the Program for Pet Health Equity, University of Tennessee, whose mission is to improve access to veterinary care for underserved families.

Dr. Blackwell is the former dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Tennessee. He also served as the chief of staff, Office of the Surgeon General of the United States.
