Preparing For Trial- Overcoming The Presumption Of Innocence

Standley 1

Trial preparation is among the most critical stages of an animal cruelty case. The most thorough investigation may fall apart in court without adequate planning. This session will discuss how to overcome the presumption of innocence by organizing a case to prove the elements beyond a reasonable doubt. It will include how charging decisions are made; considerations during jury selection; using demonstrative evidence to better explain your case; dealing with weaknesses in the case; and, anticipating the defense.
